In 1954, Grady Cardwell and his father William Cardwell cut a road to their mining claims on the pristine peaks of Mount Antero, Colorado. This opened up access to the world's finest Aquamarine gems and mineral specimens and created a family legacy for the descendants of the Cardwell father and son. Now, another Cardwell father and son, Tommy and Craig, are following in their footsteps with Mount Antero Treasures, which produces the Aquamarine Gem Clay skin care product line and the Cardwell Collection of jewelry   The Mount Antero Crystal & Gem Mineral deposit is situated at an altitude of 13,800 ft. above sea level and 1500 ft. south of the Mount Antero summit. The deposit is world renowned as the highest gem locality in the western hemisphere for Aquamarine and other Beryl gems such as Phenacite and Goshenite.
